Mary I. Williams assistant director of community and student engagement. Her seventeen years of environmental advocacy work is based on the Communiversity-Model to address environmental justice concerns among universities and communities in the southeast region as it relates to adverse human health impacts, economic disadvantage, and stress. Her community advocacy work has helped educate vulnerable communities and students about the adverse impacts of climate change, pollution from industry and landfills. She develops and implements educational workshops, seminars, conferences, and tours with the goal of helping residents and students resolve environmental concerns in their community. Ms. Williams has a bachelor of science in Business Administration from Southern University at New Orleans and a Masters of Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans.
